Chapter 233
Jiang Shaoqing turned to the elderly man with urgent eyes, his voice trembling slightly as he addressed Luna White. "Dr. White, my grandfather...?"
Luna glanced at the stunned specialists around her and replied softly, "I've done all I can. Now, it's up to the specialists to provide medication and medical treatment—that's beyond my expertise." She paused. "Acupuncture is merely supplementary. Western medicine is the key. Please have the specialists examine him immediately."
She had long learned to control her supernatural ability. Now, she always left room in her treatments, only alleviating some symptoms. This way, she wouldn’t draw too much attention while still helping the patient.
Jiang Shaoqing immediately called the specialists. "Everyone, please check on my grandfather right away!"
The specialists swarmed forward, their curiosity piqued. Treating a comatose patient had always been a medical challenge. If acupuncture could truly work such wonders...
Jiang Shaoqing didn’t linger. He hurried out to call his family.
Luna felt much warmer now. Unwrapping the blanket, she spotted the heated vest and couldn’t help but smile. Andrew Smith, that blockhead, had actually been this thoughtful. Thinking of their serendipitous connection, she took a sip of hot cocoa, warmth spreading through her body.
Meanwhile, the specialists were in a frenzy.
After examining the old man, Director Zhang stole a glance at Luna. Though the elderly man had regained consciousness, his organ functions remained weak. Still, the stroke symptoms had vanished. That this young woman had achieved such results with just two needles was nothing short of astonishing.
"Quite the stroke of luck," Dean Xu muttered under his breath.
The specialists exchanged knowing looks. Whether it was coincidence or not, the Jiang family would surely remember this favor.
They quickly administered IV fluids and medication before tactfully withdrawing.
Exhausted, the old man soon drifted back into sleep.
Principal Jiang panicked, sidling up to Luna. "Dr. White, is he...?"
"It’s fine. This is normal rest," Luna reassured him. "Let him sleep properly. When he wakes tomorrow, prepare some congee—small, frequent meals."
Only then did Principal Jiang relax, shame creeping into his voice. "Dr. White, earlier, I..."
"Go prepare what he needs," Luna gently interrupted. "Right now, what he needs most is his family by his side."
Principal Jiang nodded, his face flushed. Such a simple truth, yet they—his own children—had failed to grasp it, while this young woman understood perfectly.
Suddenly, the door burst open as the Jiang family’s four sons rushed in.
Luna tactfully stepped out with Xiao Li.
In the hallway, Jiang Shaoqing, having just finished his call, spotted her and immediately approached. "Dr. White, why are you out here? It’s cold!"
Luna gestured toward the noisy room. "Too many people inside."
Jiang Shaoqing promptly summoned a maid. "Prepare the best room for Dr. White. See to her every need."
After thanking him, Luna followed the maid away. She’d undoubtedly be staying the night.
Jiang Shaoqing watched her leave before finally lifting the curtain to check on his grandfather.
