Chapter 186

Luna White dashed forward. The moment her fingers touched the child's neck, her heart skipped a beat—there was still a faint pulse!

Without hesitation, she yanked the white sheet off the child. Thoughts of exposing her supernatural abilities or self-preservation vanished. All that remained was a dying child, and she had the power to save them.

"Move aside!" she barked.

Dean Zhang's face darkened. This intern had gone too far! The family was already distraught. If things escalated, the hospital's reputation would be ruined.

"Luna! Step back now!" His voice carried unquestionable authority.

The child's mother collapsed, her legs giving way. Medical staff scrambled to lift her onto a bed as the heart monitor blared an alarm, throwing the emergency room into chaos.

"Dean, the child can still be saved!" Luna pressed her fingers firmly against the child's wrist. "There's still time for acupuncture!"

Whispers spread among the surrounding doctors. "She's desperate for fame," someone muttered.

Dean Zhang trembled with rage. Acupuncture to save a life? Ridiculous! Even master physicians wouldn’t make such a claim, let alone this inexperienced girl.

"Luna, you're fired!" he roared. "Security! Remove her!"

Luna didn’t budge. Her gaze burned into the child's pale face. In her past life, she had lived as a tool. Would she cower again in this one?

"Captain Zhang!" She turned to the officer nearby. "Give me five minutes. Just five!"

Captain Zhang Duo frowned. As a special forces leader, he'd witnessed countless life-and-death moments. The determination in this young doctor's eyes reminded him of battlefield medics who fought to save lives against all odds.

"Are you sure?" he asked gravely.

Luna nodded without hesitation. "I swear on my grandfather's medical oath."

Dean Zhang exploded. "She’s no longer employed here! The hospital bears no responsibility!"

With a cold laugh, Luna ripped off her white coat and let it fall to the floor like a broken-winged butterfly.

"Now, I’m just a passing traditional healer," she said slowly. "Captain Zhang, the choice is yours."

The emergency room fell silent. Every eye fixed on Zhang Duo.

Beep. Beep. The heart monitor’s rhythmic beep cut through the tension.

Zhang Duo stared at the child’s blue-tinged lips and remembered his fallen comrade. If only someone had given him one more minute back then...

"Do it!" he snapped. "I’ll take full responsibility!"

A flash of silver flickered at Luna’s fingertips. Before anyone could react, three needles pierced precise points on the child’s body.

"Everyone out!" she ordered without looking up. "One nurse stays."

Dean Zhang moved to intervene, but Zhang Duo’s glare froze him in place. The special forces team swiftly cleared the room, leaving only Luna and a young nurse.

As the door closed, a faint white glow emanated from Luna’s palm...
